Southdale Park in Edmonton gets a facelift!
There’s nothing like a makeover to uplift the looks of a well-known Kelson Building! Over the next few months, Southdale Park's buildings have undergone significant renovations that have changed their overall impression. We chatted with the building manager, David Andrusiak, to learn more about the recent facelift made to Southdale Park’s siding, windows, and patio doors.
“Tenants are pleased and excited to know when their suites will be completed. They are already enjoying and are impressed by the finish of the windows and siding. They are enjoying the new appearance and detail being put into the new siding” shares Andrusiak.
Originally, the building was finished with siding but now it has all been replaced with Hardie plank in iron gray and monterey taupe colouring, giving it a fresh new modern look! The wood beneath the siding raised concerns with the seal around the windows and the repairs have since improved air leaks or pockets prone to condensation.
The recent steps in the facelift were removing all the old materials from Buildings 1, 2, and 3 and prepping the walls for the new Hardie-plank look that was chosen. The balconies and railings were updated a few years ago, starting the upgrades’ first steps to improvement for Southdale Park’s new look.
Kelson Group believes that not only is this kind of improvement more appealing, but also aids in cost savings for the residents and benefits their overall quality of life helping them live better.
“One resident from the ground floor likes the improvement as it helps block out the noise from across the way,” says Andrusiak. “Other residents are impressed with the quality of work, and how easily the balcony doors operate for those with mobility challenges Overall, a very professional install and finish.”
With these updates, Kelson Group is continuing its commitment to helping residents live better by creating a modernized and cohesive aesthetic at Southdale Park. The improvements are paving the way for a fresh, contemporary look that will enhance the overall living experience for the community.
