Kelson Group is honoured to continue supporting the third annual ‘Music for the People – A Cultural Event’ as the Presenting Sponsor. On Sunday, September 8, this unique event will bring the voices, music, and artistry of Indigenous and non-Indigenous people together for an unforgettable evening at the Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc Powwow Arbour. This year, the concert will honour Rod “Little Sky” Bandura’s legacy, co-founder of the event, and his passion for this project.

Starting at 6:30 p.m., the event will showcase a diverse lineup of performers, including the Margit Sky Project, Kamloops Symphony, Sagehill Singers, Drummers, and Dancers, as well as Johnny Bandura, Henry Small, Scott Skulmoski, and Kamloops’ songwriter and Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc band member, Jeremy Kneeshaw. This promises an evening filled with unity and reconciliation.

In addition, the K̓wséltkten Farmers’ & Artisan Market will be open from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., offering attendees the chance to explore Indigenous crafts, art, cultural presentations, and traditional foods available for purchase.

“I would personally like to thank Kelson Group, in the spirit of reconciliation, for their sponsorship. Without their support, we would not be able to carry on with this event,” expressed Margit Bandura, co-founder of Music for the People and singer-rhythm guitarist with the Margit Sky Project. “We are also grateful that part of the proceeds will be going to the Indian Residential School Survivors Society.”

Kelson Group is thrilled to be part of this cultural celebration once again, supporting initiatives that reflect our core values and commitment to community engagement.

Save the date for September 8, 2024, to attend this unique concert event and be part of an evening that celebrates the power of unity through music. For more details, visit www.musicforthepeople.ca
