Investing in Leadership Development Contributes to Long-Term Success
As Kelson Group celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, the company’s sustained success and growth are deeply linked to its commitment to the ongoing personal and professional development of our staff. A significant factor in this ongoing achievement is Trevor Throness, whose workshops have been instrumental in helping our team members become better leaders and work together to provide apartments that help our residents live better.
With over two decades of experience as a coach to leaders of rapidly growing businesses, Trevor brings a wealth of knowledge to Kelson Group. In addition to his coaching, he is also an author and keynote speaker, having written for and been featured in publications such as The Globe and Mail, The New York Post, Forbes, CEO Magazine, and others.
Trevor has worked with Kelson Group for about three years, meeting with the leadership team online once a month. Each of these sessions focuses on one of his 12 courses, and together, they discuss how the team can apply what they have learnt to everyday work.
“These are all courses related to leading and developing people. They include topics such as understanding personality, building go-forward plans for team members, developing coaching skills, delegation, hiring, being a leader versus being a team member, and more,” shared Trevor. “The team is able to learn all of the topics that are not taught in business school.”
Without a doubt, this ongoing training has given Kelson Group a competitive edge by helping develop strong leaders and cultivating internal talent rather than relying on external hires.
“The team at Kelson Group is very warm and very interested in personal development,” Trevor added. “You can always tell a great team apart because they don’t take themselves very seriously and there’s always lots of laughter, but at the same time, they take their work very seriously. And that describes them perfectly.”
