Kelson Group hits HALF a CENTURY!

Posted On Aug 7, 2024

LandlordBC’s The Key Magazine latest summer edition, featured Kelson Group celebrating its 50th anniversary. The article highlights the company's history, community building and relationships, and its ability to keep up with changing times.

The feature includes Ron Fawcett’s reflections as the founder of Kelson Group, as he recalled his journey that began with purchasing a basement suite in Prince George and eventually led to their first property in Kamloops in 1974. Today, the company manages and operates 62 properties across British Columbia and Alberta.

Kelson Group has always believed in leading by example and maintaining a positive work environment for its employees. The company's longstanding relationships with its employees, staff, and residents are key to its success. Jill Davies, controller at Kelson Group, shared her cherished 20-year experience with the company and how the business understands and credits the team.

The company's 50th anniversary feature also included a celebration of its contributions to the community. Kelson Group has made significant contributions to society and helped in times of need. Ron and his wife Rae Fawcett generously donated a fully renovated building, "Kelson Hall," to the city of Kamloops. This beautiful space is leased and operated by the Kamloops Symphony and the Western Canada Theatre, serving as a vibrant and unique arts hub.

The road to this point has been challenging, and while Ron acknowledged these difficult times, the team's resilience and dedication have always driven them to get back on track.

Diversifying their portfolio over the years, the company not only acquired but also built new properties. Currently, the team at Kelson Group is focused on the development of City Gardens in downtown Kamloops. As the city's largest-ever residential development, this project is a testament to the company’s growth and expansion.

We are excited about the future and the opportunities that await in the future.
