Over the last year, we have been making significant improvements to Hartley Manor’s parking lot, striving to increase convenience and safety for everyone. The outcome? A transformed parking lot that not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also prioritizes practicality, sustainability, and the needs of our ever-growing community. We chatted with Building Manager Kathleen Lewis, to learn more about Hartley Manor’s parking lot renovations and to find out how the recent upgrades have helped residents live better.

"This upgrade was not just necessary, but also timely. The first step in this undertaking was to address some of the pressing concerns," said Lewis, pointing to some of the challenges faced by Hartley Manor's parking lot. As she explained, the drainage system needed significant improvements and the asphalt was in poor condition, causing inconvenience to residents and visitors alike.

Lewis further added that due to the commitment and excellent work of the team, residents will now be able to take advantage of the benefits of a vastly improved drainage system and a brand-new asphalt surface in the parking area, improving the overall look and functionality of the parking lot.

But that's not all - the team went above and beyond with the upgrades to ensure a more inclusive and innovative parking space, by providing new electrical plug-ins and featuring infrastructure for EV chargers.

“As electric vehicles (EVs) gain popularity, we have taken proactive measures to accommodate the future needs of those with electric vehicles,” said Lewis. “These upgrades set the stage for a greener and more sustainable future.”

In addition, the installation of full site-lighting and the introduction of a user-friendly parking map have also enhanced safety and visibility, making the parking experience easier for everyone at Hartley Manor.

Lewis emphasized that residents were delighted with the improvements, especially with the property management's dedication and forward thinking. She further added that many residents were also pleased with the new parking lot map which is already making it easier for them to know where to park.
