50 Years of Helping People Live Better
As Kelson Group celebrates its 50th anniversary, the team reflects on half a century of community support, providing employment for hundreds of people, and managing commercial and residential properties. Since being founded in 1974, Kelson Group has been committed to providing quality, well-maintained living and working spaces, earning the admiration and gratitude of communities and community leaders alike.
With deep roots and a long history in Kamloops, where the company bought its first property in 1974, Kelson Group has grown and thrived, acquiring a portfolio of properties throughout British Columbia and Alberta.
B.C. Premier David Eby highlighted the company’s essential role, sharing in a letter of congratulations, “With over 70 residential and commercial properties across Western Canada, Kelson Group plays an important role in providing the housing and commercial services that British Columbians rely upon.”
Similarly, Nolan Dyck, Member of the Legislative Assembly of Grande Prairie, expressed his gratitude in a letter for Kelson Group’s sustained efforts over the last five decades, expressing, “At a time of increased pressures for housing, I am grateful for Kelson Group’s contributions to increasing housing availability for individuals within my constituency of Grande Prairie and those living in Alberta and British Columbia.”
Kelson Group’s ability to evolve and adapt to an ever-changing industry has allowed them to embrace new opportunities key to their growth and their success in providing safe, clean, and attractive rental homes for families. In the last 10 years, the company ventured into property development, becoming involved in every aspect of the construction and development of their new rental buildings.
In a letter of congratulations, Governor General Mary Simon wrote, “Successful business leaders know that they must evolve with the changing priorities of our society, adapt to the needs of customers and strive to exceed their expectations. Since Kelson Group was founded in 1974, this family-owned company has been developing and managing real estate properties in Alberta and British Columbia. Its dedicated staff are proud to offer exceptional service and access to outstanding facilities to help their tenants live better.”
Over the years, Kelson Group has not only grown their portfolio, including their most recent projects City Gardens in Kamloops and Foothills Crossing in Prince George, but they have also generously supported the communities in which they operate and helped foster more vibrant and healthier communities, as expressed by Frank Caputo, Member of Parliament for Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo.
“I also owe a debt of gratitude to Kelson Group for providing the Kamloops Symphony Orchestra and Western Canada Theatre a home through the donation of Kelson Hall. This building is a beautiful testament to your generosity and care for the community,” shared MP Caputo in a letter of congratulations.
