Fall Food Favourites to Help you Live, and Eat, Better!
Fall is the time we often feel the urge to transition from cool and convenient summer eats to warm and savoury comfort food. We've got you covered with a list of fall food favourites and recipe ideas to help you live, and eat, better. Pumpkin spice is nice, but the world of squash is not as #basic as you might think.
Fall is by far one of the easiest times to eat local with local markets and stores being absolutely packed with fresh produce. The best part? Squash and gourds have a long shelf life if stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space-so stock up!!
The graphic below provides a quick and easy guide for how to prepare and roast a variety of squash. We've also done some leg work to bring you a few recipe ideas to level up your squash game. Bonus: most of the recipes are dietary-restriction friendly or can be easily modified.
Spaghetti Squash:
Spaghetti squash is a tasty way to sneak in a serving of vegetables. The tender, stringy squash pairs well with many classic comfort foods, like meat sauce, enchiladas, and primavera. It also makes great casseroles and quiches!

Butternut Squash:
Soups, salads, and stews can all be made with sweet and golden butternut squash. You'll love how it tastes in muffins, pies, risottos, and pasta dishes too.
Acorn Squash:
Green on the outside and bright orange and creamy on the inside, acorn squash is a go-to fall food.
Pumpkin:
Don't toss those pumpkins after Halloween-turn those carved creations into something delicious and not #basic!
We hope we've inspired you to expand your squash horizons and find some new fall favourites! One thing is for sure, this list has inspired our appetite!
